What's Happening, Hot Stuff?
Goodness, it's only been like 6 months. Had to break through the weeds and cobwebs to log back in here and post. So, I want to keep track of some of the happenings here and move forward doing a little light tracking here and there.
Little summary of past 6 months:
As for the kiddos, Joaquin is just now (at 22 months) starting to have a verbal explosion. For a few months, the only words he had were:
Incidentally, Wocka decided that no one will restrain him and that cribs are for punks. He's a jumper. This morning, I was trying to negotiate 5 more minutes of sleep from Izzy (who was telling me it was time to wake up with her), when I heard a very hard/loud thump and immediate screeching crying. I jumped out of bed to his room and walked in to find him crying next to his crib. He sobbed, looked up at me, grabbed his head, pointed at his crib and started yelling at it. (which, incidentally is what I do to empty wine bottles the morning after...)
Ok, going to come back to these lists when I remember more.
Another dear friend is about to have her first baby girl and it's crazy exciting! It gets me reflecting on the past 2 years. Such a wild ride, it's been. I feel like part of me turned into a whole different person as a result. So many different instincts in place and so much more awareness regarding psychology behind our personalities and what along the way could have made us the way we are today. As a result, we've been trying VERY hard to really work on validating the kiddos' emotions and trying to set them up, as best as we can, to have some solid coping skills in place so that they can process their emotions and work through them instead of getting stuck in them. All we an do is try but man is it exhausting. Toddlers take so much energy but bring tons of magic. Perspective...
