The Million Days of Christmas

Even though time is flying by like crazy, I feel like this Christmas season has been the longest in ages. Probably because it hasn't been a very joyous one so far. Stress makes time slow, right when you want to just close your eyes and be past the stress hump. Ah well.

In the meantime, on our to do list is:
Pack us all up for Okahooooooma trip! Eeep! I'm of the school of packing more than you need so that you don't need. Cowboy is a minimalist. This will be an interesting process. At least with Izzy mostly potty trained, we won't have to pack up a ton of diapers.  So there's that.

With Cowboy's impending layoff on the horizon, we're not really doing Christmas in a gift sense this year. We're not even really in the spirit for sending Christmas cards so it's just not feeling so exciting this year. Don't get me wrong, I'm not all about the gifts but I feel uncomfortable not gifting those we love and who we want to bring a smile to. SO, we're going to be doing lots of hugging, loving and expressing our gratitude to those around us this season. Maybe, this way, we can get back to Christmas' true meaning. Hidden silver lining? Plusandalso, we get to spend the Holidays w/our family in Oklahooooooooma. Great Grandma Ann gets 2 of her great-grandkids in her home to fill the halls with giggles, coo's and questions of "what's this? What's that? Who's that? What'chu doing?".

Izzy currently wants to know EVERYTHING. She is card cataloging the world around her and it's fascinating. She's been so very chill, inquisitive, patient and non-plussed about times when she can't get her way. I don't know exactly where this child came from but she's an absolute angel.

Joaquin has been having less rough days and we're seeing more smiles and snuggles come from him. He's a Mama's Boy, through and through, though. So if I'm in the room, he gets more whiney and clingy but if I'm out of sight, he's completely fine. ((sigh)) Stages...

On a fun note, I won the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler Lottery to get a spot in the race! So, this gives me continued training inspiration and I get to run it with one of my Loves, (2*A)^ / Maybe-Not-The-Best-Idea. We ran the Army 10 miler a couple of years back and our paces matched up pretty well so I have a feeling this one will be even better for us.

One MEEELION things to do now!

=1/2A^2 has also been training for a 1/2 (March 16) that she's trying to get Claudia into... but alas... I will not be huffing and puffing
(as much) for the 10-miler me hopes. Griping... well, the post-run grouch has no remedy.

Hugs and time together are all that those of us who matter want.

Now but the house that is around the corner from me please.

I'm so glad you wrote out the correct spelling of your name. How could I get that formula wrong??? See, the season is getting to me. Not enough oysters.

btw, we'll be making post-Christmas cookies with you. Izzy needs that experience and I do too. This week has just been dicey.

Ok, neighbor, Commune-sister-wife... we'll have to up the search in your hood. :)

Post Christmas cookies are fine by me. :)

But I must say, I have a certain appreciation for your formula!
