[tapping mic] is this thing on?
Ooof, it's been a while!I keep meaning to pick it back up here but then I just don't.
Joaquin is now going on 14 months, walking all over the place, screeching at a whim and getting into EVERYTHING. Holy crap, I forgot how exhausting THIS stage is when they don't have any scruples about what they get into because EVERYTHING (except simple toys) is fascinating and new and since he can get himself around so quickly, it's all fair game! So, there's a lot of "No es para ti, Joaquin" being repeated every day and a lot of redirection.
He got a big fat knot and bruise on his forehead yesterday because he banged it really good against the edge of a bookcase at daycare. Whoops! Apparently the chicks dig it so he's sporting a mohawk and a bruised noggin today. Oh Toddlers....
Izzy is an interesting little creature. A lot of talking. A lot of asking "what's this?" and a lot of "I need ____". And plenty of "NO!", to which I give her the staredown and tell her the preferred response is "Si, Mama".
NO MORE WIRE HANGARS!!! Don't get me wrong, she's a peach. She just crazy too.
Now to more important stuff, looks like we're going to move again. This freaking house and cute community are just way too expensive with two lil kiddos in daycare. That's what it all comes down to, is, we want them in a good learning environment but can't afford it. We also can't emotionally/mentally afford to put them in a shitty daycare where they learn to count the strings of hanging snot off their friends faces while the teachers talk to their boyfriends on the phone all day. Know what I'm saying? So, there's lots about to be going on in this household. This may hurt.
MAMA'S BACK! After 5+ months down in Bolivia, she's back! She finally realized how inhumane it was to leave her kin up here in the cold w/out her. Now that she's back, I'm going to start writing out my Christmas list (including that Rainbow Brite doll that I always loved so much and stick on earrings in red!) and hoping she makes me hot cocoa (with rum for my teething).
Ok, this was a start. I commit to updating this bad boy weekly. Good or bad. On a bad day, the post may just be "FML". And that's ok. right?
peace out!
