So fly for a white guy

So we get to the gym tonight and Cowboy's wearing his tee from the 'Love the Run You're With' 4 mile race we did in Jan. This tee is not very masculine at all. I signed us up for this race, purely for the sake of attaining sweet a$$ monkey race tees. Please see for yourself: It's doubly great because Cowboy is no small man. He's a lil bit of a meat head (as Jemmy's coined him) and is all things man in my opinion, so that makes it awesome. He saunters over to the weight lifting area of the gym (as I climb on the elliptical and watch in utter joy) and meets his friend for some lifting and starts just doing his thing w/some large & plentifulf heavy weights but makes it look so easy and then goes to spot one of his other friends. I'm loving this. LOVING it. It makes me giggle to see "meat head" in a not so manly tee but it not even seeming to register with him. Fun for the whole family! Even better, he comes to check how much longer I have l...

My Pants Want to Travel

So, I have these khaki cords that are a skinny jeans cut, which I bought from Old Navy about 4 1/2 years ago and they fit me when I was a size 0/1 and kept fitting me all throughout my love chub gain in '08/'09 (15 + lbs of it) and still feel great on now.  I'm not as skinny as I was in '06 (which is probably a good thing, all things considered) but I've slimmed back down to a happy size. The point is, if I put on 15 or even 20 lbs they'd *still* fit me! These must be magical 'Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants' material and I clearly need to get them mailed off to a girlfriend who's a different size than me and keep it going in rotation. Who's down? I'm totally serious here. After a much needed retail therapy outting w/sweet BabyBananas , I have gotten a strong start to my summer wardrobe refreshing and an economical one at that. I love me some H&M. I got a total of 5 outfits for approx $140 or so. Win, mutha'f$#&...

Just so that we're clear, let me first say that I loathe shopping for vehicles or any other purchase that requires haggling. I'm teh suck at haggling and it makes me want to shower repeatedly and scrub w/brillo pads. That being said, it had to be done. I've been driving around my jacked up, crashed, non-AC working, shaky Jeep for a while now (it's 2000) and now that it's above 160k in mileage, it's just dying out on me.  So tonight we're heading out to a dealership that we've been working with to get me a new veeehicle. Weee!  So, the lucky girl that we're getting is this puppy: She's a 2009, Nissan Rogue and she matches my purse and my favorite cream eye shadow shade (sorry, I had to include that bonus deet)! I get me a nice vehicle w/much better gas mileage than my previous vehicle and the price is looking like we're gonna get it at a good deal (compared to what we've gotten in terms of negotiations and shopping around for a f...

Mic check, 1, 2... 1, 2, 3....

Hello Blog, how are you? I have missed you and would like to pick back up on my loverly sharing with you. So much change has occurred and even more on it's way so let's try to pace ourselves, shall we? I'll keep it light w/a bulleted list of changes as of late: Cowboy has now been gainfully employed for almost 2 solid months! DINK'ville welcomed us back to a sense of normalcy. We moved into a cute lil Hippie Cottage in Reston which we are *loving*, as do our lil furry bebes who were growing tired of our temporary studio apt digs at boss' house for the previous 5 or so months. Unpacked scores of clothes in past week which I forgot I had and now fit back into! I just need approx 7 more lbs to fit into a larger portion of this wardrobe (including a Brazilian bikini which I keep threatening Cowboy with) Catching up with East Coast friends and fam and still not really completely caught up yet! Training for a half marathon on April 17th in Charlottesville , BUT, this is t...
