Hurts so good?

Image
In my attempt to get into my work pants very comfortably (snug just won't do unless we're trying to seduce charm our customers into overlooking any little flaws that could arise in our application), I'm doing cardio daily and weights/resistance as well. That's all fine but.... OUCH! Cowboy, aka The Squadron Leader who won't let go of that role at times, kicked my ass on Wednesday night and now I hurt. Hurt bad. Yesterday was bad enough when I woke up with such soreness but today is much worse. I feel like there's dead flesh just clinging onto my bones in my lower body at this point. See, he had me go through a circuit training 5 times, consisting of many cruel lunges, squats and shoulder presses, push-ups, crunches and curls. The upper body stuff was fine but MAN, the lower body workout had me go till muscle failure. At the 4th set I told him to do obscene things to himself because I was not going to go one more round but he challenged me a bit and told m...

Virginny, here I come.... to visit.

So, one of our company's customers are quite nit picky and want us to be all professional about our delivery of apps and stuff and want 4 days of training on our application. By training, I mean, me, in front of a room of stuffy govt. employees all staring at me for answers as I try to think of how to stretch this out into 4 days. Me: Ok class, log in, see main menu, click on what you wanna do. Do it. Log out. Log back in, see main menu, what'cha wanna do this time? Do it. Ok, was that hard? Really? You're stoopid then, put your hand down to face level and smack yourself. Next? Yeah, I know this is intuitive but your boss thinks you're a less-than trained monkey who won't get it so I have to keep telling you the same thing. Ok class, break for lunch ((pulling out flask)). That being said, I have to go to VA to actually show up to train the peeps on our app. So much for my stage fright. I really need to look into some local Toast Master's meetings around he...

Good Golly, it hot.

Right Now for Austin, TX (78754) Save Location [ English | Metric ] FREE Weather on Your Desktop Sunny 87°F Feels Like 87°F Updated: Feb 25 05:25 p.m. CT Man, it sure is hot here today. I'm actually kinda bummed that it's this hot because I want to run. I guess I can't complain about this weather though because really, once summer hits, I better just get used to it. I'm gonna sit on my porch with a sweat rag in one hand, some sweet tea in the other and just stare at people who walk by. Ah, that's what I need to add to my list of aquisitions for the house; a nice bench or set of rocking chairs for the front porch. I want to start taking advantage of how nice it is to have gone with that option to begin with. What's the use of having a porch if you don't actually use it, right? Looks like it's going to cool down in n...

Photo journal of my weekend in review

We went moseying down in South Austin today to check out a great garden shop/nursery to get some ideas of what trees/shrubs we want to plant in our yard as well as just enjoy the gorgeous weather today (80 degrees w/a nice breeze) and happed upon 2 great signs in front of the burro's pen: Then we excitedly explored the Butterfly Garden. It was a sad sham. No butterflies to speak of. Only one kinda pretty steel butterfly sculpture. Weak. We looked at stoopid butterfly sculpture, scowled, turned off camera (which was excitedly on and awaiting a beautiful butterfly kodak moment) and kicked up dusting when we left. We wanted to leave the nursery w/a fun bang. We should have gone back to the burro pen, hopped the fence and tried to mount them and ride them off into the sunset. Gah, that didn't sound right. Am I the only one that sees such filthy double entendres which are not meant to be but which seem obvious to me? I'm quite possibly a filth bucket by breeding. ((curtsey...

Still feeling the love

I will omit as much cheese as possible here but I'm in love with life right now. It proves ever so difficult at times and I'm up for that challenge, believe me. Maybe I need to take the bull by the horns, so to speak, a bit more at times (work, finances, relationship balancing) but I am so ridiculously blessed and there's moments where I feel like my life is a movie. That's just how much movie/TV I've watched in my life that I could take away from the beauty of life itself and compare it to creative life. I'm an idealist, a romantic and sometimes a terminal optimist which keeps me from handling some situations w/a more realist approach but I'm cool with that. I trust that things will always turn out for the best if I keep what ever bearings I can control, straight and leave the rest to the higher power(s). /ramble off Mama's visit was heaven to me. To wake up and see her gorgeous smile coming down the stairs and a soothingly peaceful voice of ...

I Love You. Yes, you. Happy Valentines Week!

I feel like I have no time to even scratch my bum lately if needed. What in the world am I going to do when there are litte people running around looking to me for help and stuff? The home is awesome but so very consuming. I have 3 colors of paint on different parts of my body (rollers are for suckas) and our home now has color! Amen! The office is a nice clay-like tan that I am in love with and the bedroom (after having to go through a re-paint which needed 2 coats of primer to cover a color (new penny - picture to the left before it was decided against in the end) which we thought would be perfect (was not) and replaced it on two walls with Sahara shade (in below right pic. ahhh, purty) and then the other two walls are Fudge Truffle. Ahhh.... the bay window section of the wall is the Sahara color and the framing outside of it is Fudge Truffle. I love our bedroom. I want to eat it. The sunrise coming through our bedroom window makes the room looks so cozy and toasty. Bedroom rocks...

Cheese and landscape observations makes me happy

I just accidentally watched the clip of our wedding video (the one where we're famously displayed as couple demo #1 on our wedding videographer's website) because I was quickly clicking on the FaceBook bookmark which was right above the wedding video one. I love that video. The cheese that's so proudly oozing from it is awesome. I still can't get over the part where we run towards each other for a passionate kiss and then are just making out on the beach a la' From Here to Eternity, sans the bathing suits, well, we're dressed, just not in bathing suits. So, yeah, it's cheese whiz effect is so fun for me to watch over and over again. Then the camera pans over to Harms just watching us, longingly wanting to play on the beach with us too but see, since it was our wedding picture session, she was not allowed to. Instead she clicked away w/her camera and was as involved as humanly possible w/out taking one of our hands and physically joining. :-) Fun for the ...
